Mumbles Community Council is proud to announce its success at the 2025 One Voice Wales Awards, receiving five major honours that reflect its commitment to sustainability, community wellbeing, and outstanding local service.

The Council was named Best Local Council Service of the Year 2025, the highest recognition of the evening—celebrating its overall excellence in delivering high-quality, impactful services for the people of Mumbles.

The full list of award wins includes:

  • Best Local Council Service of the Year 2025 – Celebrating the Council’s exemplary service delivery and positive impact on the community.
  • Best Sustainability Initiative – For the Council’s Sustainable Procurement Policy, a progressive approach to ethical and environmentally conscious decision-making.
  • Best Environmental Project – For the beautiful and inclusive Jubilee Gardens Four Seasons Sensory Garden, designed to promote biodiversity and enhance wellbeing.
  • Best Older Persons Initiative – For Coffee With Friends, a warm and welcoming programme reducing isolation and building connection among older residents.
  • Best Cost of Living Initiative – For a trio of supportive programmes—Family Fun Days, Mumbles Crop Collective, and the Support Café—helping residents navigate the cost-of-living crisis with dignity and support.

Chair of Mumbles Community Council, Cllr Martin O’Neill, said:

These achievements are a reflection of our community’s spirit and the dedication of our councillors, staff, and volunteers.
