We're Hiring: Temporary Maintenance Officer (Caretaker) x 2
Location: Underhill, Mumbles
Contract: Temporary | Up to 16 hours per week (with potential for more)
Rate: £12.85 per hour (pay award pending)
Hours: Flexible, including regular evenings and weekends
Do you take pride in your work, love the outdoors, and want to help maintain and support a vital community facility? Mumbles Community Council is looking for a proactive and reliable Temporary Maintenance Officer (Caretaker) to join our team.
About the Role:
You’ll be the go-to person for caretaking, maintenance, cleaning, and security at the Underhill Sports Facility, including the All-Weather Pitch, Changing Rooms, and public toilets. You’ll also help maintain the surrounding grounds and support community events.
This hands-on role is varied and includes:
Routine maintenance, inspections, and cleaning
Opening and closing of facilities
Litter picking, bin emptying, and basic gardening
Supporting the safety and wellbeing of facility users
Liaising with hirers and being the “duty officer” on site
Acting as an emergency contact
What We’re Looking For:
A positive, can-do attitude
Experience in caretaking, maintenance or similar roles
Strong sense of responsibility and initiative
Availability for evenings, weekends and occasional call-outs
Commitment to health & safety and sustainability
A team player who enjoys working with the public
Welsh speaking is desirable but not essential.
