Good news for sports clubs and residents using sports pitches and changing rooms at Underhill Park.

Swansea Council and Mumbles Community Council are pleased to confirm that Underhill All-Weather Pitch and changing rooms will re-open on Monday 11 August 2025.

Bookings can be made by emailing bookings@mumbles.gov.uk.

Please note that pay-and-play sessions will resume from 18th August, with times and dates to be released in the next week.

We’re also working hard on preparations to ensure the hub and café can open soon. Please check back on SCC or MCC’s website and social media for further updates.

We want to thank the community for their patience and understanding during the closure and look forward to welcoming you back on Monday and in the weeks to come.

Cllr Rob Stewart, Leader of Swansea Council, said: “It’s great news for local residents that progress has been made so quickly. Over the last few weeks Mumbles Community Council and ourselves have pulled out all the stops to support the community through a difficult time when the facilities at the park were closed.”

“I'm grateful that Mumbles Community Council continues to work with us to manage these facilities during the coming months. This also gives us all some breathing space to develop opportunities for a permanent operating model to be found.”

Cllr Will Thomas, chair of Mumbles Community Council, said: “I would like to thank our fantastic staff at both Mumbles Community Council and Swansea Council for working so hard to get the facilities back open.

“There was a lot of work to do behind the scenes and I’m sure it is most appreciated by the community.”

Swansea Council and Mumbles Community Council took swift action to engage with liquidators and agree a partnership with Mumbles Community Council to support the local community after the operators of Underhill Park went into voluntary liquidation last month.
