There's more good news for sports clubs and residents using Underhill Park.

Swansea Council and Mumbles Community Council have worked together to re-open the sports hub and café there.

The reopening day is due to be September 1.

The Underhill all-weather pitch and changing rooms re-opened on August 11 and bookings can be made by emailing bookings@mumbles.gov.uk. Pay-and-play sessions resumed on August 18.

The hub is a community facility in a modern building. It features a cafe open to the public, a meeting room and changing rooms for sports activities. 

The hub and cafe are being operated, for the time being, by the community council. For more details see www.mumbles.gov.uk.

Swansea Council leader Cllr Rob Stewart said: "It's great news for local residents that the hub and cafe will be back open in the coming days."

Cllr Will Thomas, chair of Mumbles Community Council, said: "I thank the staff of both councils for working so hard to get the facilities back open."

The councils took swift action to engage with liquidators and agree a partnership to support the local community after the park's operators went into voluntary liquidation last month.

Mae Cyngor Abertawe a Chyngor Cymuned y Mwmbwls wedi cydweithio i ailagor yr hwb chwaraeon a'r caffi yno.

Cafodd cae pob tywydd ac ystafelloedd newid Parc Underhill eu hailagor ar 11 Awst a gellir trefnu i'w defnyddio drwy e-bostio bookings@mumbles.gov.uk. Ailddechreuodd sesiynau talu a chwarae ar 18 Awst.

Mae'r hwb yn gyfleuster cymunedol mewn adeilad modern. Mae'n cynnwys caffi sydd ar agor i'r cyhoedd, ystafell gyfarfod ac ystafelloedd newid ar gyfer gweithgareddau chwaraeon.
