Vacancy: Committee Support Officer

An exciting oppurtunity to become a Committee Support Officer 



Salary: £22,369 – £24,496  (Pro-rata)

Hours: 18.5 hours per week  with a requirement to work at the office on designated days and flexibility to support evening committee meetings.

Location: Mumbles, Swansea

Mumbles Community Council is an ambitious council  leading the way across the City and County of Swansea in bringing  some very exciting projects to fruition.

 

We are seeking a team player with strong organisational and communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to manage a varied workload to deadlines and well-developed ICT skills. Ideally you will have at least three years’ experience of servicing local government or community council committees or democratic services related work and possess sound judgement, attention to detail, tact and sensitivity.

 

Your role will involve working with the Clerk to co-ordinate and ensure the smooth running of committees in line with standing order requirements. Tasks will include preparation of agendas, advising on procedural issues to ensure statutory requirements are met, attendance at evening meetings and taking minutes. The role will also involve regular contact with, and support to Councillors, other officers and members of the public, so good interpersonal skills and a strong focus on providing a high-quality service are important.

 

You will be proficient in using MS Office packages and Google Docs and contribute to the updating and maintenance of democratic related areas on the website.
