Vacancy: Customer Service and Events Officer

Salary: £22,369 – £24,496  (Pro-rata)

Hours: 20 Hours per week  (9.30am – 1.30pm Monday – Friday with flexibility to support council events at weekends and evenings as required.

Mumbles Community Council is an ambitious council  leading the way across the City and County of Swansea in bringing  some very exciting projects to fruition. The Skatepark is almost finished and the Underhill Park development is well underway. We also organise many vibrant, popular events for the local community  from Family Fundays, 60’s and 70’s Sing Alongs, to our flagship event, MumblesFest which saw over 3,500 visitors last year. 

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with excellent people and administration skills to join a talented and highly dedicated team of staff. The successful candidate will play a crucial and highly visible role in delivering excellent customer service to all our stakeholders and ensuring the smooth running of the general office.  

 

Located in the MCC Office in the Ostreme Centre, you will be the main point of contact for dealing with enquiries from residents, visitors and members of the community and will provide strong administration skills to support council business and activities.  You will also play a key role in assisting the Marketing and Events Manager in the organisation of successful, well attended, safe events throughout the year.  

 

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in a busy public facing customer service environment and will have excellent administration, planning and organisation skills, supported by good interpersonal and communications skills with strong attention to detail.  

 

You will be outgoing, friendly and a strong team player, but will also be adept at planning and prioritising your own work, whilst also offering flexibility to respond to ad-hoc requests servicing multiple stakeholders. You will be proficient in using MS Office packages and Google Docs.
