Mumbles Community Council were joined by Cllr Rob Stewart - leader of Swansea Council, (Cabinet Member - Economy, Finance & Strategy) and Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, (Cabinet Member - Investment, Regeneration & Tourism) in a special meeting last night. Budget announcements were made and opportunities were discussed whereby MCC would work jointly with Swansea Council on future projects and plans for Mumbles.
Swansea Council is investing nearly £5m into sea defences along the seafront, and it was announced that other improvements will be made to Mumbles to create a vibrant, integrated seafront including business enhancements and a safer promenade.
Other areas of discussion included supporting local traders by improving shop frontages, developing green areas, encouraging bus travel, the Langland Bay development and Underhill Park investment.
Members of the community joined the Zoom meeting and were invited to ask Cllr Stewart and Cllr Francis-Davies questions. Discussions were positive and MCC were delighted with the level of support shown.
