Mumbles Community Council Offers a Warm Welcome

Two local venues will open their doors once a week to offer a warm place to meet people and spend some time as the winter draws in. Mumbles Community Council has agreed to open Coffee with Friends at the Ostreme Centre every Tuesday afternoon from this week, and to organise a Community Night every Friday at West Cross Community Centre.

This is part of the Warm Welcome initiative, which brings together organisations who can open their doors and provide a warm welcome for those struggling to heat their homes this winter. All Warm Welcome activities are completely free of charge and offer people a hot drink and friendly company. Other organisations taking part in the Warm Welcome initiative include local churches from across Mumbles, West Cross and Mayals.

These events are open to all, regardless of circumstance, and are varied to offer something for everyone.

You can find up-to-date information about Warm Welcome activities across Swansea at warmwelcome.uk. The MCC website will shortly be updated with a new page that brings together further information about Warm Welcome activities and other useful information to support residents through the cost of living crisis.

Warm Welcome activities will be supported almost entirely by volunteers. If you can volunteer at any time during the week, please contact Mumbles Community Council via council@mumbles.gov.uk or on 01792 363598. We will be able to link you up with a volunteering opportunity that suits your availability in one of the Warm Welcome activities across Mumbles.
