PUBLIC STATEMENT

It is with regret that Mumbles Community Council has made the decision to suspend most of its activity for the next three months.

Faced with insurmountable pressure on our staff team as we work to recruit a new Clerk as well as other important roles, it is with regret that Mumbles Community Council has made the decision to suspend most of its activity for the next three months.

The Council has agreed to deliver on key activities that are already well in train, including redevelopment of the Ostreme Centre, Mumbles Fest, the opening event for the new Skatepark and our regular programme of Coffee with Friends, West Cross Community Quiz, monthly litter picks and regular green volunteer activities. However, committee meetings will be suspended during this time and no new projects will start until a new Clerk is in post.

This is an important step to manage the workload on our staff and ensure we meet our legal obligations, while preparing the ground for a new Clerk and renewed energy and activity later in the year. We will minimise disruption to the public as far as possible, and ask for your patience as we steer through this difficult time. You can still contact the community councillors representing your ward and they will be undertaking their usual duties in their areas – you can find contact information for your ward on our website: https://mumbles.gov.uk/councillors.php
