We are looking for a Groundsperson..

Groundsperson Hours:

30 hours per week

Rate of pay: £12.63 per hour to £13.73 per hour (£24,294 - £26,421 per pro-rata annum)

Mumbles Community Council is looking to appoint a reliable and conscientious grounds person to maintain a range of open spaces, environmental assets and recreational facilities across the community including tennis courts; the skatepark; Jubilee gardens and the community orchard. Undertaking light maintenance and gardening activities including weeding, pruning, planting, and propagating, promoting biodiversity, the post holder will ensure the facilities and pathways are kept free of debris and safe for public use and access. Working closely with the Environmental Engagement and Sustainability Officer, you will advise on designs, suitable planting and maximising diversity across all the MCC managed green areas. You will have a pleasant and friendly disposition and good interpersonal skills to engage with members of the public and volunteers to encourage and promote the community enjoyment of our green spaces and recreational facilities. The nature of the role is a standalone role, requiring flexibility, resilience, and mobility to work across a range of different outdoor locations throughout the year in all weather conditions.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a physically demanding outdoors role preferably in a horticultural environment, will be experienced in undertaking maintenance and light repairs of machinery and equipment and be knowledgeable about our native species and organic /sustainable horticulture. The means to travel and transport equipment to sites across the MCC area is essential.
